Four new companies accepted into the CITRIS Foundry startup accelerator

The 2017 Spring CITRIS Foundry applications have finished and four companies have risen to the top after this highly-competitive selection round. The Foundry welcomes this new cohort of pioneering companies as they work to commercialize deep technology innovations within the biotech, energy, and wireless industries.

Applications for the CITRIS Foundry came in from all four CITRIS campuses, with an 11% acceptance rate for this impressive cohort. Learn more about each of the four companies below:

Twelve teams from UC Merced demo their mobile app design skills at Innovate to Grow showcase

On Friday, May 12th, 7 student teams pitched their mobile apps before a panel of esteemed judges at the Innovate to Grow showcase event. The 6th annual CITRISMobile App Challenge Demo Day at UC Merced then culminated with a celebration of the students’ progress throughout the semester and presentation of awards to the following teams: CADD, Good Juju, Groovy, Growth, Iterate, Reach, and Seed.

MAC To Incubator Investment Program

CITRIS will provide an investment of $250 to up to 5 Mobile App Challenge (MAC) teams that are accepted into an incubator or accelerator of their choice by June 30, 2017.

Teams accepted in an incubator will also be eligible for an additional investment of $750 after participating and successfully meeting the requirements of the program for 3 months from their starting date.

Investments will be made to teams that provide evidence of acceptance and present the business plan to CITRIS. A review will be made on a rolling basis.
