Hoaithi Dang is the Digital Data Ownership Intern for CITRIS at UC Merced. His work centers around research exploring the potential of an emerging technology, the blockchain, to empower data privacy. Nothing excites him more than uncovering the intersection between technology, people, and the capacity for social change. Dang was born and raised in San Jose, in the heart of the Silicon Valley. He is a Chancellor’s Scholar and a second year Applied Mathematics student with an emphasis in Computation and Data Science at the University of California, Merced. His passions lie in the intersections between UX design, Design Thinking, and Data Science. He enjoys traveling and photography in his free time—empathy comes with experiences.
