Jefferson Laird joined CITRIS as a junior research specialist in 2014 under Dr. Joshua Viers. He graduated from UC Merced in May 2014 with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering. He has worked with the Sierra Nevada Research Institute on various projects including the Southern Sierra Critical Zone Observatory.

He currently works with remote sensing technologies such as aerial photogrammetry, the AL3 aerial LiDAR system, and the SensePlatypus unmanned water quality system. Jefferson's interests include GIS technologies and water resources management in response to climate change.
